TLDR; I’m moving to Seattle area in June. Let’s figure out what TamoReport 2.0 becomes.
Sorry (not sorry) for the long video, but some things I only know how to explain in long format. My time here in Fairfax has been some of the most rewarding experiences of my life. My wife and I moved here only knowing a couple people, 3.5 years later we are leaving a community with friends we’ll know for life. So many conflicting emotions, so sad to leave but so excited for the next chapter. The alternative would mean we failed. We love it here, there are no complaints, but being around family and having some help raising our baby outweighs… well, everything. Life changes so fast sometimes, all you can do is do what you think is best in that moment. Our next adventure will be in the Seattle area, specifically Issaquah just off of Tiger Mountain.
This isn’t a goodbye, TamoReport is not going anywhere. My original inspiration for this platform was for it to be a community lead resource, more like opensnow or snowbrains (but hyper local). This may be the end of TamoReport 1.0, but now it’s up to all of us what TamoReport 2.0 becomes. What do you want this to be?
This platform has no allegiance to a single person or organization, its only allegiance is to the trails that we all love. If you want to be a part of the future of this resource, hit me up! Let’s keep this going and build it to be better than I could have ever done myself.
I am sincerely going to miss all of you so much, one of my favorite things in life is to run into you on the trails and share stoke for this place we all enjoy so much. I’ll still be here for a bit, I plan to hopefully be here for the solstice race and make a few trips back and forth in June. I’ll probably start posting more on my personal account @bennettbakke and will be giving this whole hyper local trail report thing another go on tigermtnreport (repurposing my Golden CO 🦊 wildlife account 🤣). Can’t wait to get involved with the evergreenmtb community up there. That said, it’s going to be tough to stay away. There are some truly unique events in this town that I’ll never want to miss 🎃
